Row 1: To form base of basket: chain 11, SC in 2^nd chain from hook and continue with 9 SC along chain, chain 1 and turn.

Row 3 - 9: Repeat row 2

Row 10: This row will be crocheted around the square you just made and will be the foundation row for the sides of the basket. Turn work to the side and chain 1, 2 SC in corner stitch, make 8 SC evenly along edge row, 3 SC in corner stitch, 8 SC along next edge, 3 SC in corner stitch, 8 SC evenly along side edge, 3 SC in last corner stitch, 8 SC along last edge and join with slip stitch in chain 1 stitch.
