The finished doll measures 1 1/2 inches tall.

I used a 1 mm hook, small amounts of 1 ply yarn and a bit of polyester stuffing.

Please refer to pictures for colors and finishing details.

Row 1: Beginning at waist, chain 12 and join with slip stitch, chain 1,

Row 2: 2 sc in each chain around and join with slip stitch, chain 1. (24 sc)

Row 3: (sc in first stitch, 2 sc in next stitch) repeat around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (36 sc)

Row 4: sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1.

Row 5 - 11: repeat row 4.

Break thread.

Row 1: Working in foundation row at waist, join with slip stitch, chain 2, sc in same stitch, 11 more sc around joining with slip stitch, chain 1. Do not turn. (12 sc)

Row 2 - 3: Sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (12 sc)

Row 4: Sc in first 2 stitches, chain 3, skip next 2 sc, sc in next 4 stitches, chain 3, skip 2 sc, sc in last 2 stitches, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (8 sc, 6 chains [excluding turning chain 1] )

Row 5: Sc in first 2 stitches, sc in 3 chain stitches, sc in next 4 stitches, sc in 3 chain stitches, sc in last 2 stitches, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (14 sc)

Row 6: sc 2 tog around, join with slip stitch. (7 sc)

Break thread.

Row 1: join with slip stitch and evenly sc 8 stitches around armhole, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (8 sc)

Row 2: sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1.

Row 3: sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch.

Break thread.

Row 1: Through both layers of sleeve end, join thread with slip stitch and make 3 sc across, chain 1, turn.

Row 2: Sc in each stitch across, chain 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in each stitch across. Break thread.

Row 1: On last row of top at neckline, join with slip stitch and make 2 sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (14 sc)

Row 2: sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (14 sc)

Row 3 - 4: repaet row 2.sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (14 sc)

Row 5: sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (14 sc)

Row 6: sc 2 stitches together around, join with slip stitch. (7 sc)

Break thread and using sewing needle run thread through stitches and draw up tightly to close top of head..

Row 1: Chain 17, sc in second chain from hook, sc in each chain stitch across, chain 1, turn. (16 sc)

Row 2: Sc in each stitch across, chain 1, turn.

Row 3 - 4: repeat row 2.

Row 5: sc 2 stitches together and repeat to end of row. (8 sc)

Row 6: sc in each stitch across, chain 1, turn.

Row 7: 2 sc in each stitch across, chain 1, turn. (16 sc)

Row 8: 1 sc in first 7 stitches, (1 sc, 1 dc) in next stitch, (1 dc, 1 sc) in next stitch, 1 sc in each of last 7 stitches, chain 1, turn. (16 sc, 2 dc)

Row 9: sc in first 8 stitches, 2 dc in each of next 2 next stitches, sc in each of last 8 stitches, chain 1, turn. (16 sc, 4 dc)

Row 10- 11: Sc in each stitch across, chain 1, turn (20 sc)

Row 12: dc in first 6 stitches, sc in next 8 stitches, dc in last 6 stitches. (12 dc, 8 sc)

Break thread. Sew middle seam of hood.

Attach thread at neck edge and chain to desired length. Break thread, tuck in loose end. Repeat other side for second tie.

Row 1: Chain 4, join with slip stitch to form circle, chain 1.

Row 2: 2 sc in each chain around, join with slip stitch, chain 1, do not turn. (8 sc)

Row 3: 2 sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (16 sc)

Row 4 - 5: Sc around, join with slip stitch, chain 1.

Row 6: (1 sc, sc 2 together) around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (12 sc)

Row 7: 2 sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (24 sc)

Row 8: (1 sc, 2 sc) around (36 sc)

Break thread.

On either side of nightcap slip stitch to join and make a chain long enough to tie nightcap around Granny's hair bun.

Row 1: Chain 2, 6 sc in 2^nd chain from hook, join with slip stitch, chain 1. Do not turn. (6 sc)

Row 2: sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 1. (6 sc)

Row 3: sc in each stitch around, join with slip stitch, chain 8 and attach with slip stitch on opposite side to form handle.

Break thread.

Stuff head and body and place dolls wrong side together at waist and stitch closed. Match hemlines and sc 3 rows around (or more to desired length of skirt). Embroider hair. For Granny's bun, make chain to desired length, attach one end to head and sew in place while wrapping it around to shape bun. Attach basket to Red's hands. Embroider facial features (optional).
